A double presence at IAA Transportation 2022 for Prometeon Tyre Group. At the trade fair to be held in Hanover from 20^th to 25^th September, Prometeon will present the new innovative 325/90 R24.5 tyre size for the PIRELLI-branded Serie 02 range. The new tyre was developed in collaboration with wheel manufacturer Accuride Wheels. Moreover, 275/70 R22.5 U02 Urban-e Pro will feature on the Karsan e-ATA electric buses fitted with the company’s e-Urban tyres specifically studied for being used on electric vehicles.

THE NEW TUBELESS TYRE SIZE 325/90 R24.5 G02 ON-OFF PRO

Prometeon has developed an innovative size for easier assembly and dismantling and improved safety during operations, in addition to a greater load capacity (up to 5 tonnes per tyre) that ensures a broader application spectrum. The new 325/90 R24.5 TL offers an alternative to 325/95 R24 and 12.00 R24 sizes on a new rim type specially developed by Accuride.

Moreover, this tyre/wheel rim combination would become up to 957 kilograms lighter in shifting from a TT to a TL rim on vehicles typically used in Middle Eastern countries, where this size is the most common. All this was made possible by adopting the state of the art in terms of technology, available on the entire Serie 02 range, to offer a sustainable product that optimizes operating costs.

The performances of the new tyre offer greater strength and durability, higher mileage and a lower rolling resistance. The new rims are full compatible with tyre pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS), which will be standard in the future.

The new size differs for the type of wheel used, a new monoblock 24.5x9.00 wheel which replaces the current 24x8.5 (one-piece) tubeless wheel (TL) and the 8.5-24 (multi-piece) wheel, which are significantly heavier for tube-tyre (TT), in order to facilitate greatly assembly and disassembly operations.

Prometeon is the first tyre manufacturer to propose this new size; the project was initiated with the collaboration of Accuride Wheels, one of the major suppliers of wheels for the commercial vehicle industry, which produced a specially designed wheel rim to this aim.

The new PIRELLI-branded 325/90 R24.5 tubeless tyres mounted on Accuride Wheels will be on display at the IAA in Hanover at Booth E47 – Pavilion 26.

e-URBAN ON KARSAN e-ATA BUSES

 The e-ATA electric buses manufactured by Karsan on display at IAA will be equipped with Prometeon tyres. They will mount the new 275/70 R22.5 U02 Urban-e Pro PIRELLI-branded tyres specially developed for electric vehicles.

This size represents the state of the art in terms of performances for urban transport and also highlights Prometeon’s commitment towards improving sustainability and reducing pollution in urban centres.

Karsan e-ATA buses will be on display at IAA at Booth A16 – Pavilion 23.
